Mayor of Orumba North Congratulates Newly Elected NYCN Coordinators of Orumba North and South
The Mayor of Orumba North Local Government Area, Capt. Barr. Casmir Nwafor (Rtd), has extended his warm congratulations to Comrade Arinze Clems and Comrade Uchenna Ejeri on their emergence as Coordinators of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) for Orumba North and Orumba South respectively.
In his message, the Mayor described their emergence as a renewed mandate for grassroots youth leadership and a call to purposeful service, in line with the objectives of the NYCN as enshrined in the NYCN Establishment Act. He charged them to uphold the values of the Council—discipline, patriotism, service, and advocacy—and to serve as effective bridges between the government and the young population they represent.
He urged the newly elected Coordinators to champion youth empowerment initiatives, promote civic responsibility, and collaborate closely with local authorities in addressing issues affecting the youth across both LGAs.
Capt. Nwafor also commended the State Chairman of the Council, Amb. Surv. Emeka Obi, and the entire leadership of the NYCN Anambra State Chapter for conducting a transparent and peaceful electoral process that strengthens the Council’s credibility and democratic values.
"The National Youth Council of Nigeria remains the statutory umbrella body for all youth organizations in the country. Strengthening it at the local level is key to sustainable youth development, social inclusion, and community-based growth," the Mayor stated.
He reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to support youth-led programs and deepen engagement with youth stakeholders across Orumba North in line with the Solution-driven vision of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR.
